Tired of fighting Windows and applications that chew up memory and never give it back? I've tried a number of solutions for this and some half worked but at the end of the day I ended up rebooting...a lot.. Then I found MemoryBoost. Not only does it allow me to easily configure and monitor performance elements in every version of Windows from 95 to XP but it actually works at freeing up memory that I otherwise had to reboot to reclaim.

After installing MemoryBoost a monitor sits in the system tray and displays the amount of free memory. You configure the monitor for the desired levels and that's about it. You can manually run the memory reclaim function or set MemoryBoost to reclaim it automatically when certain levels are hit.

You can pick the settings yourself or let MemoryBoost use it's predefined settings if you don't want to worry about it.

It may not solve all your reboot problems, but if you suffer from memory leakage, it may plug the hole.
